His intention for donating was to “spread the culture of reading ‘beautiful art books’.”

The donation focuses on books by the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art that is hard to find or needs to be republished and was donated to both public libraries and schools nationwide.

They published 4,000 copies of the eight-book set to be sold at the MMCA book store available for anyone to purchase.

A fan posted photos of the books and handwritten letter from RM that they received at the national library.

“We just recently received this package at the library that I work at. As soon as I saw Namjoon’s name I remembered that he donated to the National Museum of Contemporary and Modern Art! I can’t believe I’m seeing his present in real-life. I am so honored and am thankful to RM for sending us this precious gift.”

The photos revealed the eight-book set…

…and a handwritten letter from RM!

Really, I don’t think there is an easier or deeper way than a book to learn about something. I too, am still learning and talking with many artists through books and sometimes, it even feels like they are alive and right next to me. I hope that you enjoy the books and receive a lot of comfort and inspiration like me. Drawings are not hard, they are very close to us!

RM’s consistent positive influence towards the appreciation of the arts has helped open many people’s eyes to the importance of culture and history.
