BTS‘s RM recently announced his new solo album, and ARMYs have broken down the name’s symbolism and meaning.

While RM previously released mixtapes RM and mono, his upcoming album, Indigo, will be his debut official solo album. BIGHIT MUSIC released a statement regarding its release and revealed that it will feature various collaborations and artists.

With the announcement of the album’s title as Indigo as well, ARMYs are already analyzing the significance behind it, knowing how thoughtful RM is. And, no, it’s not just returning to the HYYH era…

ARMYs pointed out how indigo is the color between purple and blue. We know purple represents BTS, and previously RM expressed that he identifies with blue.

Indigo also represents many great things spiritually. Generally speaking, Indigo represents both our deepest thoughts and spiritual wisdom. Still, according to The Spiritual Centre, the color is “one of devotion and sincerely.”

Yet, another ARMY pointed out its significance in Korean. So, it might also be a play on words to represent literally “Nam’s color,” meaning it is Namjoon’s color.

Another even more touching theory is related to Sir Isaac Newton and his inclusion of indigo in his color spectrum, Newton’s color wheel. Knowing how often BTS include science, theories, and space in their concepts and lyrics, this is likely. Newton wanted the spectrum to have seven colors rather than six. Seven, of course, is of great significance to BTS as well as there as seven members.

ARMYs are just are intelligent and thoughtful as the BTS leader. Some have even noticed that it appears that the Indigo album cover is cyanotype art.
