On May 24, BTS‘s RM released his second solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person. The album has 11 tracks, including lead single “LOST!” and pre-release track “Come Back To Me”, and RM took part in the songwriting and production of most of the songs.
Right Place, Wrong Person delves into the relatable sensation and moments of feeling like a stranger, out of place. In the album, RM paints a portrait of universal emotions that anyone could have encountered at least once in their lives, delivering a message that resonates with those who strive to find answers in the face of these emotions.

Though it’s only been out for a short time, fans are already praising RM’s lyricism and musicality, especially since the album seems to be so personal and emotive for the BTS member. One conversation that has been sparked by some of the lyrics is about RM’s dating life, and whether or not it played a role in his creative process.
The lyrics for the B-side track “Nuts” is the one in question.
Reading the lyrics, it’s easy to see how many interpret it as RM talking about someone he was in a relationship with in the past, and if that’s the case, it sounds like it was a tumultuous one.
Since you left, I finally feel alive
Every night, I write letters to my past self
With just a glass of whiskey, all the memories come pouring out, praying to a god I don’t even believe in
So that you can move on from being my everything in your twenties
I’ll sincerely wish for your happiness, even though you probably won’t believe me
It was a tough relationship, there’s a stigma on my chest
It’s called you, I can’t even believe we were together
It was a flu, and we could see the karma coming through
The monster hasn’t been me, I beg you, oh, baby, please
Forever, ever, ever wish you true happiness, damn
Despite the tragic lyrics, fans are never disappointed in how poetic and beautifully RM expresses himself, whether he’s speaking in Korean or English.
She’s a pro rider, hoo, hoo, hoo, hoo, rider
Must be an A1 guider, always throw a f**king slider
When it comes to love, she could be an all-nighter
Best gaslighter, no man could ever fight her
I go mad, how can everything be done together now?
How come now you have nothing to offer?
Freaky you, freaking me, begging you, baby, please
A lifetime of nonsense, lovе is just for the freaks
The lyrics for “Nuts” have led to a conversation on an online forum post about RM’s potential dating history. Many have already believed that the BTS member has gone through a rough breakup in the past couple of years, so they aren’t too surprised by the lyrics. Others just think, based on the lyrics alone and RM’s age, it’s pretty much a given that he’s been in some kind of relationship at some point, whether now or in the past.
Do you think RM’s lyrics are a peek at his tragic romantic past?
