BTS RM’s Post-Concert Weight Loss Sparks Conversations About Health And Body Image
RM‘s latest health update has sparked conversations among fans about weight loss, dieting, health, loving your body, and more.
To prepare for their 3-day PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – SEOUL concert, some of BTS‘s members hit the gym in addition to rehearsing for the show.
I’m done learning the choreography, but I’m bringing up my stamina level with working out. I went to exercise 5 days in a row.

RM’s exercise routine included an intense mix of cardio and strength training: biking, rowing, burpees, and more. He shared this workout in an Instagram story on February 22, two weeks before the concert.
RM’s pre-concert weight was 76kg (or 167.5lbs), but he now weighs 74kg (or 163lbs). Today, RM shared his post-concert weight in an Instagram story captioned, “concert diet..”
Some fans worry that RM’s weight could be too low for his height, but others pointed out that it’s not unusual to shed a few pounds after rigorous physical activity.
also namjoon just did 3 hours straight of dancing and jumping around for 3 days, on top of practicing and his regular workouts of COURSE he's gonna lose weight pic.twitter.com/gJurbCByI8

Others believe that RM knows what is right for his body; he maintains a healthy diet and exercise routine befitting his highly athletic lifestyle as an idol.
Just to put this here: Joon is very healthy. He literally CANT starve himself and maintain muscle mass well. At the end of the day his body autonomy is not a comment on anyones body but his own. He has a full right to his goals and choices.

For many, weight is a sensitive, uncomfortable topic. It might be tempting to compare your own body to that of a K-Pop idol, but these comparisons are neither healthy nor fair. Every body is built differently, and no body is “better” or more deserving of self-love than another.
This sucks because Namjoon is literally showing us his insecurity about his weight and folks are spinning it as he’s advocating unhealthy weight loss. Plus, folks need to understand body structures between races too. Namjoon may weight that low but he’s not going to look…

Cw weight talk 3/3
Context in 🧵Namjoon is also a professional performer. Some dancers prefer a certain weight bc they perform best there, same with other physical performers. Going on a diet might even mean going up in some cases.
It’s not fair to compare to them.

When it comes to diet and exercise, every person has their own goals and needs. What works for one person might not necessarily be beneficial, healthy, or enjoyable for someone else.
your weight sounds healthy for your age? depending on your height. but tbh weight has no correlation to health. you don't NEED to lose weight to be healthy, but working out can make you feel good (without losing weight) ! try moving your body in ways you enjoy? walks, yoga etc.

Some people might feel discouraged after seeing an idol’s weight loss, but others are choosing to keep a positive mindset by using health updates like RM’s are a source of motivation for their own health journey.
Looking at namjoon’s ig story about his weight, I weighed heavier than him a few months ago. It was too much & unhealthy for me apparently. I decided to put steady effort and started working out every single day and eating clean. Now I weigh less than him and still counting.
