BTS To Make Changes To Riyadh Concert Out Of Respect For Local Culture
BTS is making adjustments to their Speak Yourself in Riyadh concert out of respect for Middle Eastern customs.
On October 11, Yonhap News reported that there will be changes made to BTS’s choreography. An official for Big Hit Entertainment told Yonhap News that any “intimate behavior” on stage will be modified and ab flashes will be removed. No changes will be made to BTS’s lyrics.
In preparation for their Saudi Arabia trip, Big Hit Entertainment’s staff members and backup dancers attended training sessions to learn about Islamic culture. The company also purchased abayas (loose-fitting, robe-like dresses) in advance and encouraged their female staff members to wear them, out of respect for local culture. By law, foreign women do not have to wear abayas unless their shoulders and knees are showing.
Fans spotted several female staff members wearing their abayas in public.
Ok but the fact that bh staff wore abaya to show respect to our culture even tho when tourist visa was released they announced that foreign females don’t need to wear abaya or hijab in sa🥺💜#BTSinRiyadh pic.twitter.com/VV3mjKZ9A2
