“Daechwita” Is BTS’ Suga’s First MV To Hit 200 Million Views
On top of being one of the most streamed K-Pop male solo songs, BTS Suga‘s “Daechwita” has just hit another milestone: it has surpassed 200 million views on YouTube over this past weekend, making it Suga’s first solo MV to achieve this!
“Daechwita” is an important music video in BTS and Suga’s careers, as it has received much appraise from Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism for promoting traditional Korean culture overseas. Following its release, the Ministry saw the first major surge of interest in traditional Korean music, especially among international fans.
Suga, under his alias Agust D, has two other music videos to his name: his self-titled solo debut MV, “Agust D,” with 118 million views, and B-side “Give it to me” with 44 million views. While all his solo releases are amazing, it’s no surprise that “Daechwita” hit this milestone first, given its major cultural significance! Besides, it’s only a matter of time until the other two catch up, but until then, we’re congratulating Suga on this great achievement!
