BTS’s Suga Reportedly Reflecting On DUI Incident Thoroughly — No Internal Discussions To Leave Group
BTS member Suga’s driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI) incident has made headlines in South Korea. Against all speculations, though, reports state that his withdrawal is not a possibility being considered right now.
On August 9, 2024 (KST), local media reported that Suga’s blood alcohol concentration (BAC) level was 0.227%, which is over seven times the legal limit. The Yongsan Police also confirmed that the electric scooter he was operating had been classified as a “motorized bicycle,” which meant that the BTS member would face criminal investigation akin to a DUI of an automobile.

This additional information, juxtaposed with Suga and BIGHIT MUSIC’s official statements so far, turned some public opinion bitter and sparked speculations about the possibility of him having to leave BTS. But media reports on August 10, 2024 (KST) revealed that those are simply rumors with no foundation in reality.
Sports Chosun published a report stating that Suga was deeply introspecting about this incident, but his withdrawal is not on the table, keeping BTS’s dynamic in mind.
According to multiple sources, Suga is thoroughly reflecting on this issue. Also, given BTS’s strong team dynamic, extreme measures like his withdrawal from the group are not being discussed.

The outlet also affirmed that BTS’s comeback in 2025 after the members’ discharge from the military is unlikely to be deterred.
With HYBE currently dealing with various issues, a delay in BTS’s full group comeback in 2025 is believed to be highly unlikely.
