BTS’s Suga Facing Further Fallout From DUI Scandal As Lucrative Ambassadorship Reportedly Under Threat

Samsung is reportedly considering dropping BTS as ambassadors due to Suga‘s DUI scandal.
On August 28, 2024 (KST), Korea Herald reported that a Samsung insider revealed that Samsung may decide to change its ambassadors. Currently, BTS are Samsung’s brand champions, a partnership they’ve held for years.
Regardless of their fandom, there are risks in having an ambassador that has caused controversy. There is a need to carefully consider their partnership.

The Samsung Insider then stated that, despite this, Samsung would not take steps to immediately exclude Suga from campaigns.
With this said, it doesn’t mean that Samsung will exclude him from campaigns right away. They have contracts with all BTS members. Unless Suga leaves the group, it is hard for them to do anything. They’ll need to see how this plays out.

Samsung has declined to comment on the report. Previously, Suga caused considerable backlash after driving a seated electric scooter after drinking.
