Since BTS’s first appearance at the GRAMMYs, the members have never failed to make an impression in front of fans. Yet, the event has come under criticism after the group has been “snubbed” during multiple events after not winning.

While the event has always gained mixed responses from ARMYs after the group’s treatment, Suga has also been vocal in the funniest way about his thoughts.

After the event in 2022, during a live broadcast, Suga spoke about the PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LAS VEGAS shows, and he explained that the awards show was just a stop-off.

But weren’t we just stopping by at the GRAMMYs when we came here only to do a concert?

Well, it seems like Suga has done it again, as the idol recently gained attention for seemingly “shading” the GRAMMYs in an interview.

During his world tour, Suga recently sat down and did an interview with the LA Times. He chatted about music, culture, and much more in the piece.

Yet, one particular answer caught the attention of fans as they believed he was seemingly shading the GRAMMYs.

Considering their influence, it wasn’t surprising that Suga was asked about the event, and he didn’t hold back as he replied, “Isn’t that a local thing?”

As explained in the interview, the quote was said in 2020 by the Korean director Bong Joon Ho, who is known to global fans after winning “Best Director” at the Oscars. During an interview, Bong Joon Ho stated how he didn’t believe the event was international.

When the interview was shared, ARMYs loved how unbothered Suga was in his comments. Although he was only replicating a phrase by Bong Joon Ho, it seemed to showcase the group’s continued awareness of what was going on around them.

As always, Suga is never afraid to speak his mind, and using the quote from a Korean director showcases the parallels between the Oscars and the GRAMMYs.
