The Tattoo Artist Responsible For BTS’s Iconic “7” Tattoos Spills On His Experience With The Members
One of the hottest topics in 2022 has been BTS and their friendship tattoos.
Earlier in the year, V was the first member to talk about the group planning to have matching tattoos while answering a fan on Weverse.
ARMY: Don’t get a tattoo!!!!!!!!!!
V: That’s something I’ll decide on my own, and the members and I always talked about getting a friendship tattoo. We’re going to get a friendship tattoo one day. Look forward to it 🥰🥰
Over the past few months, the members have been slowly revealing their “7” tattoos, with the exception of Suga and V. Each time one has been revealed, it’s sent the internet into meltdown.

The tattooist behind the beautiful tattoos is one of the most prominent tattoo artists in South Korea, Polyc SJ.
He gained attention after revealing that he wouldn’t be recreating the iconic designs for others, as it was exclusive to the members of BTS.
He also revealed the hidden meaning behind the “7” tattoos. While the “7” is a clear reference to the number of members in BTS, each of the tattoos is a little bit different and, when put together, the 7s form the word “BTS.”
He then shared some custom pins that were created for BTS, combining all the tattoos together to showcase the design, adding that there were only seven.
Well, it seems as if the artist is having more attention shone on him. After Jungkook’s tattoos gained attention at the recent World Cup, Arirang News did an exclusive interview with Polyc SJ.
During the interview, Polyc SJ wasn’t afraid to spill his experiences with the members. As expected, the artist had nothing but kind words to say about the members.
Despite being the absolute top stars, the BTS members were very considerate of me and tried to make me feel comfortable during the entire process.

Considering how comfortable he looked in the picture with the youngest member Jungkook, it isn’t surprising that he had nothing but kind words about the group.
Yet, even with his beautiful designs, Polyc SJ revealed that there is still a stigma towards tattoos, especially among older Koreans and that it still impacts him now.
First of all, it used to be a symbol of gangsters in the past, even when it’s portrayed in the media: gangsters and the mafia all have tattoos. So senior citizens give me the eye when I walk past them, even to this day.

Aside from BTS’s tattoos, the artist has created some beautiful tattoos with bright colors and designs that truly showcase his talent.
He also takes his beautiful art and puts it on a canvas for people to see all the time.
With such talent, it isn’t surprising that he’s trying to fight against the stigma tattoos hold in South Korea. His beautiful pieces have captured the hearts of netizens, and he is a part of BTS history, creating artwork that has united the members even more.
