Singer Tori Kelly Reveals What Meeting BTS Was Like At The 2019 BBMAs
Singer-songwriter Tori Kelly has nothing but good things to say about BTS!
In a new interview with USA TODAY, Tori Kelly discussed her upcoming performance at the 147th Kentucky Derby, where she will sing the US national anthem. She was also asked about working on “Name”, a song by Ithaca Holdings artist Justin Bieber.
The US branch of BTS’s agency, HYBE, recently acquired Ithaca Holdings, making BTS, Justin Bieber, and many more artists all part of the HYBE family.
Two years ago, BTS and Tori Kelly met for the first time at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs). Jungkook, a longtime fan, was especially happy to meet her. One of his most popular covers is Tori Kelly’s song “Paper Hearts.”

It turns out that Jungkook wasn’t the only one in “fan mode.” Tori Kelly, a true BTS fangirl, recalled how excited she was to meet BTS.
I remember fangirling pretty hard when I met them, but I also remember thinking it was so crazy that they knew who I was.

“They were so sweet,” she said. “and…I would love to collaborate with them. I think they’re super talented.”
