When BTS was not only confirmed to attend but perform in the 62nd GRAMMY Awards, ARMYs were feeling a mix of pride and disappointment.

Come January 25, however, and most fan’s excitement has turned into anger when behind the scene footage showed BTS looking like backup dancers.

 

They were situated in a moving stage behind Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus, mostly hiding them from the spotlight.

 

The rehearsals dashed hopes that BTS would have a surprise solo stage.

 

It also prompted ARMYs to trend #BTSdeservesbetter to express their disappointment at the award show.

 

They stated that BTS is talented enough to carry their own top-notch performance, and so giving them backup roles is disgraceful.

 

Other fans, however, are trying staying positive despite the controversy.

 

Lil Nas X previously collaborated with RM to make “Seoul Town Road”, the fourth official remix of his hit song “Old Town Road”. The original version will be performed in the GRAMMYs on January 26, Sunday.
