Twitter Declares 2018 To Be “The Year For BTS”, Here’s Why

BTS completely took over Twitter in 2018, and these stats prove it.

TwitterData recently announced what ARMYs already know; BTS completely took over Twitter in 2018!

According to Twitter’s 2018 #ThisHappened recap, @BTS_twt (BTS’s personal Twitter account) racked up more mentions then Twitter could count.

BTS won the “Golden Tweet”, aka the most liked tweet on all of Twitter…

…and @BTS_twt was also the most tweeted about account this year.

BTS’s Golden Tweet, which inspired the viral #HopeOnTheStreet version of Drake‘s #InMyFeelingsChallenge, currently has over 1.7 million views and counting.

In addition to this, Jungkook‘s cover of Park Won‘s “All of My Life” was named the most liked tweet in Korea, with over 1.2 million likes.

This year, BTS was involved in a number of Twitter’s most talked about moments, including the FIFA World Cup‘s vote for which song would be played during the finals match. In the end, both Twitter voted for EXO’s Power, and Instagram voted for BTS’s “FAKE LOVE”, which led to both songs being played.

BTS’s #ENDviolence campaign with the UNICEF was another one of the most talked about moments on Twitter. The campaign encouraged the world’s youth to speak out on global issues and to #ENDviolence.

BTS made it into a number of Twitter’s other top lists for 2018. BTS’s LOVE YOURSELF world tour was the fifth most tweeted about K-Pop concert…

…and “IDOL” was the second most tweeted about song.

BTS had the second most tweeted about comeback…

…and were the #1 most mentioned K-Pop group in the Asia Pacific.

Although BTS are the kings of Twitter, Twitter isn’t the only site/app they took over this year. Spotify named “FAKE LOVE” their most globally streamed song by a Korean artist this year!
