BTS’s V And Jungkook Open Up About Why The “Bad Decisions” Collaboration Was Especially Meaningful To Them
BTS‘s vocal line recently collaborated with producer Benny Blanco and Snoop Dogg on “Bad Decisions.” ARMY loved everything about the collaboration, from the entertaining music video to the upbeat song.
The collaboration was undoubtedly meaningful for Benny Blanco, who even got a face tattoo of the QR code for the song. In his Instagram post showing the tattoo and talking about the collaboration, he explained why he became “obsessed” with BTS after watching “Blood Sweat & Tears.”
[BTS] made me feel young… they made me feel excited… they made me believe… we chase those highs everyday… and they have the ability to give that to so many people… they are some of the kindest most hard working people i have ever gotten to work with… their work ethic is unmatched and seeing them live is something every person reading this needs to do immediately…
— Benny Blanco
“Bad Decisions” helped to make Benny Blanco’s “six-year-old self’s dreams come true.”
i didnt know what i was going to do when i was a kid… i wouldnt say i was lost bc i always knew i wanted to be a musician but i didnt know how to make it a reality… those things didnt happen where im from and the possibility seemed so far away… i just want thank u guys for making my 6 year old selfs dreams come true… i dont know how i can ever repay u… im actually tearing up writing this… love u
— Benny Blanco
And Snoop Dogg has also opened up about how excited he was to work with BTS.
The BTS experience you keep talking about. I’m going to let them tell you about it. It’s official like a referee with a whistle. I love that entertainment world. It’s good music. It’s a vibe. I make good music. They make good music. And we end up doing this. This is what it’s always about, bringing our worlds together.
— Snoop Dogg
In a recent behind-the-scenes video of BTS’s vocal line recording “Bad Decisions,” fans get to see just how excited BTS was about the iconic collaboration.
For Jungkook, getting the opportunity to work with Snoop Dogg was meaningful since he has been a long-time fan.
After Coldplay, Halsey, Megan Thee Stallion, all those amazing artists, we’ve got to work together with a great hip-hop artist, Snoop Dogg, who I’ve listened to so much during my trainee days.
— Jungkook
Collaborating with Snoop Dogg never seemed possible to Jungkook until he saw Snoop Dogg’s collaboration with PSY.
When PSY released a song (with Snoop Dogg) I was so amazed.
— Jungkook
And now, with “Bad Decisions,” Jungkook got to have a collaboration that, as a trainee, he could have only dreamed of.
And now we get to do it too.
— Jungkook
V was also incredibly excited about the collaboration, having admired Benny Blanco’s work for a long time.
I’m so happy that I got to collaborate with one of my favorite producers, Benny Blanco.
— V
So recording the song was fun for him, especially considering he knew how much ARMY would enjoy it.
And I had fun recording the song, thinking about playing this for ARMY.
— V
V explains that one of his favorite songs was Justin Bieber‘s “Lonely,” which is one of the reasons he started to really like Benny Blanco’s work.
One of [Benny Blanco’s] most famous songs is Justin Bieber’s “Lonely.” I really love the song’s lyrics so I used to sing it myself a lot. I didn’t realize it was Benny Blanco’s (when I first heard it). So I liked it even more.
— V
BTS’s excitement for the collaboration was definitely evident in how hard they worked to create the incredible track.
