BTS’ “Wings” sets new record for highest and best-selling K-Pop album
BTS is back at it again, this time, they’ve made history.
Billboard has officially stated that BTS set a new U.S. record for “Highest-Charting and Best-Selling K-Pop Album.” According to Billboard, BTS is the first K-Pop act to log three entries on the Billboard 200.
BTS released their second album WINGS on October 10th. It went on to chart on Billboard 200 at number 26, making it the best-selling K-Pop album on the chart. Their music video for “Blood Sweat & Tears” has gained over 20 million views, and was published on October 9th via Big Hit Entertainment‘s YouTube page.
The group also became the first Korean music artist to rank on the UK’s official Album Chart. On October 15th, the UK Official Chart Company revealed BTS made it on the album chart with WINGS placing the group at #62.
Their takeover doesn’t stop there. The group was also the first Korean group to featured in Billboard’s Twitter Top Tracks Chart, landing third for their track “Save Me” and ninth for “Fire.”
