He penned a touching letter to fans on Weverse.

Hello, my very loved ones! I’m 30 now (already…). Thank you so much for sending me your congratulations filled with sincerity, on a day which I never gave much thought about. Thanks to you, I’m hanging in there well. You know this, right? There’s a saying in Buddhism — You should live relying on yourself as your source of light. Whenever I am overcome with anger without a reason, or when I feel emotionally unstable all the way here in Hwacheon, I think of that saying. There’s much I want to say now, but today, I’ll just replace it with a few photos on my Instagram. Just like RPWP (or that documentary), there will definitely be a better place and time, as well as a cooler and more beautiful way to express myself. This is not the place and time. My life in the military has returned to its halfway point. It’s the halfway point where I get breathless whenever I run 3km at the Nonsan training camp. Life sure is fleeting. Snow falls, the year changes, the weather will get warm again, and after the cherry blossoms fall, it’ll be when I come to find you in good spirit. Good days, good words, and a good spirit. Please be healthy. I love you.
