Police have concluded their investigation into Suga’s drunk driving incident.

According to police reports, BTS‘s Suga was found lying on the ground outside the Nine One Hannam luxury complex in Hannam-dong on the night of August 6, 2024, after driving an electric scooter while intoxicated. A nearby patrol officer subsequently escorted Suga to the Yongsan Police Station for further investigation.

The latest updates from the police include the results of his breathalyzer test. Although they did not specify the exact percentage, the police reported that it had passed 0.08%, the limit for one’s license not to be revoked. As such, Suga’s license could be revoked.

In their initial statements, both BigHit Music and Suga stated that Suga had lost his license. Yongsan Police Station later clarified, however, that Suga has not had his driver’s license revoked yet. According to the police, the investigation is still ongoing.

Currently, no fine has been imposed yet, and the process for revoking his driver’s license is still underway. There are currently no plans for additional summons or investigation of Suga, but since it involves drunk driving on a scooter, the investigation into whether a violation of the Road Traffic Act applies will continue. If the investigation concludes that there was DUI on an electric scooter, it is highly unlikely that the case will close with a simple fine.
