Byeon Woo Seok’s Security Team Apologizes For Over-Protection Controversy
Actor Byeon Woo Seok‘s team was recently criticized for “over-protecting” the star.
He had been spotted in an airport lounge recently. The incident was filmed by someone who had coincidentally been in the same lounge, off for a vacation with their parents. They had gotten a flashlight shone at them by Byeon Woo Seok’s security guard.

Netizens felt that the guard went too far in trying to protect him, as most people in the lounge were not fans, but other ordinary travelers. There were also kids present. Light sensitivity is an important consideration, which is why most guards only opt for flashlights to be shone at fans during outdoor events.

As soon as the matter blew up, the CEO of the security detail team stepped up to issue an apology via News1. They admitted that “it was the fault of the security guard for having shone the flashlight,” and that they “wished to deeply apologise for making civilians uncomfortable.”
They promised to strengthen internal education to prevent such matters from happening again. Given that there were no fans present and that no one was crowding the star, they also admitted that the security guard had gone too far.
It is true that there was no need for over-protection in that situation. We normally do not operate this way as well. We have been in the business for more than a few years now, and we are not ones to disregard interactions with fans, or make civilians uncomfortable, or cause displeasure with careless control. We will conduct thorough education internally as this matter has happened without us meaning for it to.

They also further explained that Byeon Woo Seok’s popularity had skyrocketed all of a sudden, causing them to be on their toes to prevent mishaps. They promised to act in a way that does not cause harm to fans and others in the future.
