Cha Hyun Seung Rejected “Single’s Inferno” Casting Requests Multiple Times Before 2 Idols Convinced Him To Join
Netflix‘s Single’s Inferno recently concluded its broadcast with its final two episodes, but the hype of the show has remained at an all-time high. As the contestants continue to receive love and recognition from all around the world, however, new information has been belatedly revealed regarding a fan favorite—Cha Hyun Seung.
The male contestant previously made headlines when he joined the rest of the Single’s Inferno cast mid-way into the series—and it didn’t take long before his good looks, fit physique, and background as a K-Pop dancer began to take over the internet. Surprisingly enough, however, his participation on the reality show almost didn’t happen.
Following the finale of the series, Cha Hyun Seung took to his personal Instagram page to share a touching post about his time on the show. The dancer first thanked the producers who “continued to contact” him even after he rejected their casting requests multiple times.
A summer night’s dream.
I believed that I was just an ordinary guy so when I received a DM to appear on the show, I declined it multiple times. However, they never gave up and they continued to contact me, so I want to thank the producers.

However, it was the next part in the Single’s Inferno contestant’s post that caught the eye of the public. After thanking the show’s producers, Cha Hyun Seung also took the time to thank two different idols for encouraging him to join the show—and they were none other than Sunmi and BTOB‘s Changsub.
I also want to thank Sunmi and Changsub for convincing me to go on the show even though I didn’t want to. They told me that I might meet the right person on the program.

And while the persuasion to join the show might be surprising, Cha Hyun Seung’s friendships with Sunmi and BTOB’s Changsub aren’t! The K-Pop dancer previously went viral after performing with the “Gashina” singer at the 2018 Waterbomb Festival, as he became known as “Sunmi’s tan backup dancer.”
Ever since, he has gone on to cultivate a beautiful friendship with Sunmi…
…all while continuing to perform as a backup dancer for the solo singer’s numerous comebacks and performances.
Cha Hyun Seung and the BTOB members also have close friendships, as the dancer has performed with the boy group dozens of times before.
Out of all the BTOB members, however, it seems that the Single’s Inferno contestant and Changsub have the closest friendship, as Cha Hyun Seung frequently mentions him on his Instagram.
The K-Pop dancer concluded his Instagram post of gratitude by relaying his thanks to all of his fellow contestants, as well as the production crew of Single’s Inferno.
It was a hot and tiring summer, but it was thanks to you (fellow contestants) who made this the most memorable time of my life. I will never be able to forget this summer, which I spent with you all. I love you guys.
Thank you to the production crew who suffered even more than the contestants. It was because of you that I was able to look attractive on the show.

We can’t imagine watching Single’s Inferno without this hunky dancer, so a big round of applause to Sunmi and BTOB’s Changsub for convincing him to join the show!
