Chinese Actress Tang Wei Shuts Down Rumors Surrounding Her Marriage With Instagram Photo
Chinese actress Tang Wei uploaded a series of pictures amid rumors that the actress and her husband, Korean director Kim Tae Yong were having marital issues.
On December 12, the actress uploaded a picture of a birthday cake and a picture of a journal written in Chinese. The pictures gave a glimpse into the happy family’s celebration of Kim Tae Yong’s birthday. According to reports, the cake was for the actress’s husband, Kim Tae Yong, and the journal was written by the couple’s daughter, Summer.
In the journal, Summer wrote in Chinese, “Today I ate my dad’s birthday cake.”
According to news reports earlier this year, Chinese media outlets alleged that the actress and director were facing difficulties in their marriage.
The allegations stemmed from rumors that Tang Wei and her daughter had been living in Beijing away from Kim Tae Yong for six months. Tang Wei has denied the allegations and had previously uploaded a photo showing the family was together in response.
Tang Wei is one of the most acclaimed Asian actresses in the world. She gained international recognition for her role in the classic Chinese film Lust, Caution. In 2014, the actress married Korean director Kim Tae Yong, who she met while filming for the movie Late Autumn, which Kim Tae Yong directed.
Tang Wei is currently garnering international acclaim for her role in the movie, Decision To Leave, winning a Blue Dragon Film Award for Best Actress for her role. Decision To Leave has since been nominated for a Golden Globe Award.
