Chinese Military Expert Claims Taekwondo Is Chinese Because China Invented Korea
A Chinese military expert has stepped forward with bizarre claims in regards to the South Korean martial art form, taekwondo.
China has been continuously making interesting claims, trying to take the credit of many historically important South Korean commodities. They previously asserted that the hanbok, kimchi and the Korean flag were all Chinese inventions, thus making them Chinese. To add onto the growing list of strange claims made by China, we have a Chinese military expert who has come forward to declare that the South Korean martial art form, taekwondo is also Chinese.
The man, who serves as an editorial writer for the show started off his segment by acknowledging that taekwondo is indeed, Korean.
Taekwondo is indeed Korean.

He continues by acknowledging that it was South Korea who invented it.
You can say that taekwondo was invented by Korean people.

This is where the military expert began his strange claim to the South Korean martial art form.
However, since the Chinese people made the Korean people…

He concludes this baffling claim by stating that it’s not too complex of a solution.

This is not the first attempt that China has made with these interesting claims. Previously, a Chinese game show tried to take the credit for the creation of the Korean flag by declaring it was invented by a Chinese diplomat. They also previously took credit for the invention of the traditional Korean garment, hanbok. They took it as far as threatening MAMAMOO‘s hanbok outfits due to “insulting Chinese letters” when in reality, the words written on the girl group’s hanboks were in Korean. It was during this controversy that Chinese netizens tried to assert ownership over the traditional Korean garment.
The tension between the two countries is becoming more evident, with the Chinese media visibly trying to discredit South Korea in different ways. The strain in the relationship seemed to have began when BTS won the highly coveted Van Fleet Award. Chinese netizens were not happy when the global boy group did not acknowledge the sacrifices made by the Chinese government during their acceptance speech. Ever since then, China has been keeping up with their odd antics, trying to take credit for everything South Korea is known for. The country even tried to take credit for BTS’s monumental GRAMMY nomination.
We can only hope that the strain between the two countries gets resolved sooner than later.
