Choi Yena Joins A Spicy Fashion Trend And (G)I-DLE's Yuqi Is Here For It

Soloist Choi Yena confirmed that she’d be making his first comeback of 2023 with a new single album on January 16. She recently dropped an MV teaser for the title track, “Love War,” and surprised fans with a feature by rapper BE’O.

The MV teaser showed a completely new side to Choi Yena, who made her solo debut a year ago with the upbeat song “SMiLEY.” She followed “SMiLEY” with another classic pop song, “SMARTPHONE.”

For her two previous releases, Choi Yena wore colorful Y2K clothing, keeping up with the current trends.

Leading up to her “Love War” comeback, Choi Yena has been teasing a significantly darker concept than what fans are used to seeing from her.

Fans were shocked when she uploaded the mature concept MV teaser and an image afterward showing Choi Yena with a fake bloodied lip for the MV shoot.

After posting that image on her Instagram, she surprised fans in a completely different way by joining a spicy fashion trend that’s been increasingly popular among female K-Pop idols lately.

In the photo, Choi Yena wore a cropped top and low-rise jeans, joining the “visible thong straps” trend.

(G)I-DLE‘s Minnie also recently shocked fans and broke the internet by wearing daring low-rise jeans with a visible thong strap. Members Soyeon, Miyeon, and Yuqi rocked a slightly less low-rise variation.

(G)I-DLE’s Yuqi proved that nothing is better than confident women supporting confident women by hyping up her friend and fellow 99-line member’s spicy photo with a thoughtful compliment cheering the soloist on.
