CL Praises BTS’s Success In The Global Music Industry
In light of CL‘s new music release, she held an online press conference where she praised her “hoobaes”, BTS for their success in the global industry.
CL, who made it into Billboard‘s Hot 100 Singles Chart 4 years back, expressed how she feels about the recent globalization of K-Pop.
I love it. I grew up watching MTV, and the reason why I wanted to go to the US was because there weren’t many Asian artists abroad at the time, so I wanted to be one. But now that there are many, I’m so happy.

The way CL sees it, K-Pop has succeeded to the point of being considered a part of the pop music industry.
Many people who live there as well as Koreans and Asians now know how we express ourselves. I’m very satisfied. I feel like the borders have been blurred, and now, it’s not K-Pop and pop, but K-pop is now apart of the pop music industry.

She even went on to praise BTS, who is the representing K-Pop group who really succeeded in the global music industry.
