Popular Korean Star Holds Surprise Wedding With Top Athlete
Comedian Park So Young, 37, and former professional baseball player Moon Kyung Chan, 32, have officially tied the knot in a heartfelt wedding ceremony. The news delighted fans as the couple had only recently gone public with their relationship.
According to Park’s agency, JDB Entertainment, the wedding took place on December 22 as planned. The couple, who initially knew each other as acquaintances, grew closer earlier this year after Moon retired from baseball and moved from Busan to Seoul. Their friendship gradually turned romantic, with mutual friends playing a key role in their connection.
Park first spoke publicly about their relationship in August during an appearance on SBS Power FM’s Bae Sung Jae’s Ten. At the time, she shared that they had been dating for about three months. Shortly after, she confirmed on Instagram that Moon Kyung Chan was her boyfriend and expressed gratitude for the support and kind messages from fans.
In an interview leading up to the wedding, Park shared her thoughts about their relationship, saying, “I felt certain about marrying him because of how sweet and thoughtful he is when we’re together.”
Park So Young began her career in 2008 as part of KBS’s 23rd class of comedians, earning recognition for her charm and talent. Moon Kyung Chan, meanwhile, started his professional baseball career in 2015 as a pitcher for the KIA Tigers before later playing for the NC Dinos and Lotte Giants. He retired from the sport last year.
Fans and well-wishers have been celebrating the couple’s joyous occasion, showering them with congratulations and warm messages. Congratulations to the new couple!
