On March 20, Beat Interactive‘s CEO announced that, after deliberation, the group and it had decided not to extend their exclusive contracts. The letter, posted on A.C.E’s social media account, spoke of mutual respect and the relationship between the group and the company.

A.C.E debuted in 2017, making them in their 8th year of activities, a usual time for changes in contracts for many idols. However, one difference between many contract expirations and A.C.E’s is the usage of their name.

More often than not, groups that decide to leave their company are not able to use their original name, like in the case of HIGHLIGHT.

Beat Interactive allowing the group to use their name and related content without any conditions is outside of the norm, something many fans commented on.

On the other hand, many fans expressed discontent, citing the group’s alleged mismanagement under the company. Some called out the company for “using” and “abandoning” A.C.E ahead of the debut of NEWBEAT, without placing blame on the new group.

Fans have been reassured by the members that the group is not disbanding, while no further information about A.C.E moving to another company has been officially shared.
