Dark Palace, a private club, announced through its WeChat that all men must sign an agreement before entering. The agreement states that they will not sexually harass any of the venue’s female guests.

The club was forced to put the agreement into place after an incident of sexual harassment that was too “outrageous” for Dark Palace to share the details of. And if any man breaks the rules after signing the agreement, the club is prepared to blacklist them and get the police involved. They were also clear about men who refused to sign, with the club saying, “We don’t welcome you. No admittance.

Dark Palace’s announcement earned mixed reactions. While there were people who supported the anti-sexual harassment agreement, many people were skeptical or against the idea. Chinese netizens pointed out that “a letter of agreement doesn’t mean they won’t violate the rule” and “the anti-harassment agreement should be applied to female guests too.
