Director Hong Sang Soo Brings Up Actress Kim Min Hee During Press Conference In Berlin

At the 75th Berlin International Film Festival, director Hong Sang Soo—almost a decade into his extramarital affair with actress Kim Min Hee— attended a press conference alongside the lead actors of his latest movie, What Does That Nature Say To You.

While responding to the questions about filmmaking, the director mentioned his “colleagues” and revealed that the actress takes on an active role in his creative process.

I have my colleagues—an assistant, my production manager Kim Min Hee, and a boom mic operator. The four of us work together.

Insight reported that his mentioning of Kim Min Hee’s name (while referring to others as their positions) showed “affection toward the actress,” his mistress now carrying his baby.

Meanwhile, Norwegian filmmaker Dag Johan Haugerud took home the Golden Bear for his movie Dreams (Sex Love). Director Hong Sang Soo did not win any awards this time.
