In January, Dabin’s company, CTYL, released statements in both Korean and English via social media. The company revealed that as of January 29, 2024, Dabin had filed a lawsuit, alleging that former DPR (Dream Perfect Regime) CEO REM (also known as Scott Kim). is responsible for “unfair profit distribution,” “non-payment and withholding of settlement data,” and “non-payment of appearance fees and settlement data for the world tour.”

Hello, this is CTYL.

Yesterday, the 29th of January, our artist, Dabin Hong, has officially filed a complaint through the law firm Kim & Chang.

The complaint is directed against Dream Perfect Regime Co., Ltd., the former CEO Kim Scott Yunho, and Regime International Co., Ltd.. The allegations include ‘unfair profit distribution‘, ‘non-payment and withholding of settlement data’, and ‘non-payment of appearance fees and settlement data for the world tour‘.

As representative of the artist, deeply acknowledge the gravity of this case and are actively pursuing legal measures to safeguard the rights of our artist. Our hope is that the true facts will be unveiled through this lawsuit, and we are committed to making diligent efforts to prevent the recurrence of similar cases in the future.

Furthermore, we want to underscore our unwavering support for the management of Dabin Hong’s career. We sincerely ask for your love and support for Dabin Hong’s future endeavors.

Thank you.

Although Dabin is still a member of DPR, he needed to sue the company to be able to potentially receive the compensation he is owed since Scott’s actions were made while he was in charge of DPR. Previously, Dabin released a diss track about Scott titled “WMP freestyle” as part of his new EP Giggles. He accused Scott of scamming him out of his earned money.

Although the mediation date of June 28 was approaching, Hong Dabin had reportedly terminated all lawsuits and submitted a withdrawal letter to the court.

Previously, Hong Dabin’s representative stated, “We recognize the seriousness of this incident and are proceeding with legal action to protect the rights of our artists. We earnestly hope that the substantive truth will be revealed through the lawsuit, and we will strive to prevent similar cases from recurring in the future.”In response, Regime International countered, “In October 2017, Hong Dabin signed an exclusive contract with our former agency, Dream Perfect Regime Co., Ltd. We conducted fair and transparent profit distribution to Kim Scott Yunho, the CEO of Dream Perfect Regime at the time, until September 2022.”They continued, “The company’s profit distribution rate was less than half of the artists’ profit distribution rate,” and asserted, “The process of distributing the funds received by Kim Scott Yunho from Regime among the other members was strictly based on private discussions among the members, and Regime was unaware and not involved in this.”
Regarding the World Tour that Hong Dabin claims not to have received payment for, they clarified, “Regime has conducted transparent and accurate payouts to Hong Dabin, and has already provided all relevant documents multiple times as requested by CTYL.” They further explained, “The evidence will be clearly presented by judicial authorities.”

Fans were initially confused by this seemingly sudden decision. Yet, Dabin might have good reason.

One fan explained that based on reports, it appears Dabin was not satisfied with the agreement, hence his withdrawal. He will likely file a new lawsuit.
