Police Rejects The Lawsuits DSP Media Filed Against Former APRIL’s Lee Hyunjoo’s Acquaintances For Alleged Slander
It has been reported by Korean media that the police have come to a decision about the lawsuits surrounding former APRIL‘s Lee Hyunjoo and her former company, DSP Media. Previously, online posts claiming to have been written by Hyunjoo’s brother and ex-classmate were uploaded onto community sites, accusing APRIL of bullying Hyunjoo. DSP Media then made moves to file lawsuits against these posts for defamation, the spread of false information, and slander.
According to the legal representatives for Lee Hyunjoo, the police had cleared the posts of such charges and did not accept DSP Media’s filings of lawsuits. This news was announced on June 8, 2021.
Apart from this news, Hyunjoo’s legal representatives also have announced that they will be working hard with investigations and more, in order to reveal the truth behind Hyunjoo’s situation.
In February 2021, a post claiming to be Hyunjoo’s classmate from School of Performing Arts Seoul (SOPA), made allegations that Hyunjoo was the victim of group bullying. On the other hand, a post claiming to be her brother made allegations that she had suffered under the company and group, detailing how APRIL had bullied Hyunjoo. In response to this, DSP Media had claimed, “The posts in question contain information that are biased and it is a one-sided claim that is different from the truth. We will be filing lawsuits against them.“
