News of rampant digital sex crimes emerging from South Korea has left the world in shock. Recently, multiple Telegram chatrooms based in Korea were exposed by South Korean women on social media, with over 212,000 users sharing pornographic material and personal information of women they were acquainted with in real life. Some chatrooms also revolve around sharing explicit content involving one’s mother or sister, which, frighteningly, all users agreed upon.
Many of these chatrooms also involve sharing AI-generated deepfake videos of women and girls. Previously, we reported on multiple such chatrooms operating from prestigious universities and schools. As it turns out, such illegal chatrooms are rampant across educational institutions across South Korea, and many female students and graduates have unfortunately become victims.
A “humiliation room” on Telegram with 1932 people in it. The room has various categories such as “cousin room,” “mom room,” “acquaintance room,” “older sister room,” and “younger sister room.” Let’s look into what kind of photos are in these rooms. I have censored underwear and any skin showing, but I have left the clothes and blankets shown so that you can tell if you happen to be the victim. If it seems like it is you, please prove it and I will link you up with the person who gave the tip-off.

In light of the current situation, an anonymous group named Team Datastack has launched a website that contains a database of which schools in Korea have been found to be involved with such chatrooms. The website contains a list of all the schools involved and a map showing where each of these institutions is located.
At the time of writing, this website mentioned countless universities, high schools, middle schools, and even six elementary schools. The website is still accepting tip-offs from users, and the number of schools mentioned in its database is likely to increase.
The map also highlighted the scary concentration of these schools spread across the country, leaving netizens shocked and enraged.
- “There was a rumor going around among the kids at the school where I work that the school also had a victim. But I don’t know for sure since it wasn’t on that list…But anyway. It seems like the middle school students also know everything.”
- “Did the girls’ high schools spread pictures of girls from other schools?? I’m shocked because my alma mater is in there.”
- “This is insane. All the schools in my neighborhood are on there.”
- [Responding to comment 103] “Usually, they steal phone numbers at the academy, add them on KakaoTalk, and then steal profile pictures.”
- “It’s a mess because of some crazy people.”
- “Wow, our neighborhood is crazy. There are hardly any schools, but almost all of them are included.”
- “Does it make sense in this tiny country? Ugh, it’s so frustrating.”
- “F*ck. My alma mater is also there.”
- “What’s happening in Busan… it’s devastating.”
- “There’s trash people everywhere.”
