Former CLC Member Elkie Opens Her Own YouTube Channel
It’s been less than two weeks since Elkie officially terminated her contract with Cube Entertainment and left CLC, but she’s already building her new path as a solo entertainer. Today, the former CLC star opened her own YouTube channel.
Last December, it was revealed that Elkie’s lawyers submitted a contract termination request to Cube Entertainment. According to the statement, the company “violated numerous terms and conditions from the contract“, including failing to pay Elkie and failing to adequately manage or promote the group.
Eventually, on February 3, Cube Entertainment confirmed that Elkie would be departing both the company and the group. While many CLC fans worried that it might be a while until they saw activities from Elkie again, it seems Cheshire’s had nothing to be concerned about. As of February 12, she officially has her own YouTube channel.
Named ELKIE Official, the channel opened with an introductory video where Elkie wished fans a happy lunar new year in Mandarin, Cantonese, and Korean.
She also shared clips from some of her photoshoots over the past months.
Within the first five hours of the channel’s release, Elkie racked up over 5,000 subscribers.
She’s the fourth CLC member to open her own Youtube channel. Sorn opened her channel, Produsorn, in January 2019 and has over 600,000 subscribers to date.
Seungyeon opened her channel, Seungmongine, in April 2019. Her subscriber count is currently set to private.
Most recently, Seunghee opened her channel, OH SEUNGHEE, in February 2020. She currently has over 50,000 subscribers.
In her first video, Elkie promised to upload more content on her daily lifestyle, behind the scenes clips from her career, and her music. While Elkie will likely be reprising her 11-year acting career, it looks like fans may be able to expect solo songs from her soon too.
