Behind The Cameras: ENHYPEN's Jungwon And How His Personality Changes Once He's Working

ENHYPEN‘s Jungwon sat down for an interview with Weverse Magazine where he talked about everything from the seniors he admires to his true personality.

He opened up about being a naturally introverted guy which may not always be obvious when seeing him in videos. His Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) was originally ESTJ before it changed to ISTJ, meaning he now possesses Introverted, Observant, Thinking, and Judging personality traits.

He noticed that he tends to change depending on the situation. He goes from a “thinking” type to a “feeling” type once he’s on the job. This means he depends more on emotional factors than data when making a decision.

I’m even surprised at myself. (laughs) I didn’t even realize it until you mentioned that. Have you heard the phrase ‘selective F’? (laughs) I just naturally become like that when I’m working.

Moreover, being a K-Pop idol means being under the spotlight at all times, but this is something that Jungwon doesn’t actually like.

Being looked at is not exactly my favorite since I’m usually very shy, but I don’t care that much when I’m working. I simply focus on bringing out good results.

He makes it a point to act more outgoing when the cameras start rolling despite being introverted. As someone who is “not usually good at being expressive,” he does a great job at doing what he can to make the content he is shooting interesting.

I’m not usually good at being expressive or conveying a wide range of emotions but I think I can to some extent in my work.

Though being a singer is not a typical job, it is still work nonetheless and Jungwon wishes to do his best. Becoming more extroverted is one way he does this as he has a duty to do well.

I like my work, and it’s fun, but it’s still work at the end of the day. It takes a lot of investment and the efforts of a lot of people to make an album, you know. The other members and I are only one part of it so I think we have to do our best for our share.
