ENHYPEN Fans Speak Up Against Sunoo Being Excluded From Music Video

Fans voiced their frustration and offered alternative solutions.

Once again ENHYPEN fans have made the hashtag #RespectSunoo trend, calling attention to Sunoo being excluded from a part of the group’s upcoming Japanese activities.

Through Weverse, BELIFT LAB released a statement about Sunoo’s participation in the group’s first full-length Japanese album Sadame. Because the Japanese version of “Future Perfect (Pass the MIC)” was filmed “during the period when Sunoo was taking a rest due to his health-related reasons,” the company asked for “understanding for Sunoo’s absence in the music video-related contents.” The statement wasn’t received well.

Fans immediately took issue with the statement and offered alternative ways the company could’ve handled the situation rather than excluding a member altogether.

ENGENE voiced their frustration with the company for not showing respect to Sunoo by delaying the music video’s filming. One fan even used TWICE as an example of how a company could’ve handled it differently. They recalled the way JYP Entertainment still included Jeongyeon in their music video—despite her hiatus for health reasons and not being able to film with the group at the time.

Most importantly, one ENGENE pointed out how Sunoo must’ve felt when learning he wouldn’t be able to participate, especially after how upset he’d been when missing out on KCON.

Although Sunoo will be participating in their Japanese promotions, fans have strong opinions on how the company could’ve handled the music video situation differently.
