ENHYPEN’s Korea Fansign Causes Controversy After Only International Fans Get Picked

Fans are severely divided.

ENHYPEN‘s most recent fansign winners’ list from Yes24 went viral with over 1.9 million views on X, after a fan pointed out that the list contained only non-Koreans. The fansign itself will be held in-person in South Korea.

Wait up LOL. Why are the 50 winners for Yes24’s fansign all foreigners? LOL. What is this…? Did they upload it wrongly? They did, right? LOOOOOL.

Retailers usually award a mix of Koreans and international fans, although the winners are allegedly determined by raffle. More albums purchased raise one’s chance of winning. In the past, it seemed like retailers would assign quotas to foreign fans and Korean fans to make it a fair mix. It seems like Yes24 abolished that this time.

Fans called out the company for catering to foreign fans, Chinese fans in particular, who have been known to sweep up spots for fansigns and concerts through resellers.

If you hate Korea so much, why are you making them promote in Korea…? If you hate Koreans so much, why did you debut them in Korea?

A point of contension was wondering if the members would be able to communicate with the winners or not.

This fansign is even more special as it will be held on November 30, 2024, ENHYPEN’s 4th anniversary for their debut in Korea. This fuelled even more tension.

Reactions to this were heavily divided between Korean fans and international fans. While international fans believed that it was simply decided upon through consumeristic rules where higher purchases garner higher chances…

Bruh, you guys are the ones who didn’t buy enough, why are you getting pissed off? Everyone knows it’s based on the quantity you purchase, but you’re still grumbling here.

…others felt that it only served to diminish the already-small Korean fanbase.

ENHYPEN made a comeback with “No Doubt” recently. They will soon embark on their world tour for WALK THE LINE.
