Epik High’s DJ Tukutz Rescues Security Guard From Brutal Assault
Epik High member DJ Tukutz is winning hearts for his recent act of bravery while saving an elderly person from assault.
The incident occurred in January at an apartment complex in Gangnam, Seoul, where a security guard in his 60s was brutally beaten up by a delivery worker after a confrontation. The delivery worker had entered the complex even though there was no ground-level parking lot. When the security guard tried to stop him, he assaulted the guard.
According to a witness, the delivery worker attacked the guard saying, “Do you know who I am?” as he threw punches and kicks indiscriminately. A resident ran over and intervened, and the delivery worker eventually fled the scene. The incident left the guard with severe facial injuries which required a recovery period of over three weeks. Hence, he was forced to stop working.
The incident, which was covered by JTBC‘s Crime Chief, had garnered widespread attention in Korea for the brutality of the attack. It was recently revealed that the resident who stepped in and helped the security guard was none other than Epik High’s Tukutz.
The artist himself brought up the incident in a recent YouTube video, confirming that it was indeed him on the news. When his fellow member Tablo asked why he didn’t reveal it before, Tukutz simply responded, “Why would I?”
Since the confirmation, many netizens have showered praises on the Epik High member, with some even suggesting he receive the Brave Citizen Award.
