Popular Group Apologizes For “Bad” Parody Of “Lovely Runner”
Even for those who do not watch K-Dramas, The Lovely Runner is likely a familiar name. The K-Drama starred Kim Hye Yoon and Byeon Woo Seok as a fangirl and aspiring film director Im Sol and swimmer-turned-idol Ryu Sun Jae (also romanized as Ryu Seon Jae), respectively.
The K-Drama has been one of the most popular of the year and has since been parodied multiple times.
Earlier this week, the hip-hop group Epik High shared a poster for their upcoming concert that drew inspiration from the show’s main poster. In the poster, Tablo and Tukutz are dressed up as the main characters, Sunjae and Im Sol.
The parody was taken hilariously by fans, who shared their appreciation in the comments.
After the poster gained traction, Tablo shared a surprising update in which some of his previously unvoiced “concerns” were addressed.
In the clip shared on Instagram, Tablo explained how the poster went viral and expressed his concern that they would be sued over it.
However, Byeon Woo Seok’s company director liked the post and shared the image on their story with a laughing message.
In the shared story, the director tagged Byeon Woo Seok, meaning he likely saw the image. Tablo then apologized and, in the post’s caption, invited the director to Epik High’s concert!

I’ll even send you Park Kyu bong (Epik High lightstick), so come to the concert!
— Tablo
It seems only right that this hilarious situation has an equally hilarious ending.
