Epik High’s Tablo Reveals Why It’s Okay For People To Forget Him, His Music, And Epik High One Day
It’s natural for people to want to be remembered by others for many years to come, but Epik High‘s Tablo prefers something else entirely.
In an interview with NME, Tablo was asked if he wants to be remembered by others. After much thought, he revealed that he would rather that people remember the way he made them feel.
Honestly, I don’t know if I want to be remembered. I would rather [have people remember] that I made [them] feel a certain way within themselves. Whether [it’s] solace or feeling like you can do anything, or just an emotion you’ve never felt before—I’d like to be able to give people that.

For Tablo, it’s even alright for people to forget his songs and Epik High, but he never wants them to forget where the feeling came from.
He echoed a classic saying by the late poet Maya Angelou that goes, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
They can forget me, they can forget my songs, they can forget Epik High, they can forget where that feeling came from, but I would love it if they never forget that moment when they first felt it.

Concluding the interview, Tablo admitted that he also fears “fading away” with time, but he finds solace in the thought that his influence will continue to carry on.
Every day that passes, every year that passes, I do get scared because I know that with time, it’s very possible that we could slowly fade away. And everyone does, right? But the fact that I’ve apparently influenced other people who can carry on influencing other people, and on and on—that sort of gives me hope.
