Eric Nam Reveals The Important And Timely Message Of His New Song With Sarah Barrios
Soloist Eric Nam recently revealed that he has been working on a new album. In the meantime, he has released a new song with his friend and singer-songwriter Sarah Barrios.
Eric lends his vocals to the song written by Sarah and TikTok influencer Vaultboy. She described it as a “timeless love” song. She explained the lyrics as a story of, despite just meeting, two strangers being so in love that they feel like they have known each other forever.
I really wanted to capture the idea of two people being so meant for each other that in every lifetime, in every universe or alternate reality, they seem to always find one another and fall in love. There’s just something really beautiful about a love like that.
— Sarah Barrios
Eric shared what the lyrics meant to him. In a time when we are more strained than ever from other humans, he hopes to celebrate connection.
The beauty of the human experience is that we come across so many people in our lives, and every once in a while, we find someone who we connect with and understand in so many ways it’s uncanny. In a time and age where it feels as if we come across so much unfortunate news, I hope this song leaves listeners optimistic about connecting with new people.

The two singer-songwriters previously co-wrote Eric’s song “I Don’t Miss You” in 2018. However, this is their first joint single together. Sarah revealed to Bandwagon how their new collaboration came about.
I actually ended up texting the song to Eric right after I wrote it. The more I listened to the demo, the more I could hear his voice on the record and I’m insanely grateful that he believed in the song as much as I did.
— Sarah Barrios
They described the process of producing and recording the song as not the easiest process due to COVID-19 precautions. Despite this, the song turned out amazing, and they were grateful to work together again.
Luckily, we were able to take the proper safety and health precautions to work together in person. So while it was weird and awkward being back in a studio situation, I think everything turned out great.

Eric has frequently collaborated with other artists, including both Western and K-Pop. He explained that he likes working with others because it opens you up to new experiences that you would otherwise not be able to explore.
Collaborations allow you to explore different wounds, concepts, melodies, and art that you otherwise would likely not be able to do on your own.

Finally, Eric said that he has been continuing his work at DIVE Studios, MINDSET, as well as working on his new album.
