EXID Hani’s Withdrawal Causes Complete Bust of JTBC Show—Viewers Conflicted
On August 20, 2024 (KST), it was reported that EXID member Hani has decided to step down from an upcoming JTBC show, Review 4 Cut.
The decision was assumed to have been made due to the negative public sentiment surrounding her fiancé, Yang Jae Woong, and the death of a patient under his care.

Following the report of her withdrawal, xportsnews also confirmed that the original lineup of the cast for Review 4 Cut—consisting of KARA‘s Han Seungyeon, After School‘s Uee, Girl’s Day‘s Yura, and former NU’EST member Baekho—would no longer be able to participate due to all the conflicts in scheduling the (re-)shoots.
The show, first announced to premiere on August 12, was postponed mid-scandal of Hani’s fiancé. Now that all five hosts are unavailable, JTBC is expected to relaunch from scratch with a new lineup of hosts.
That said, viewers and fans of the five original cast members can’t help but express disappointment at the bust. At the same time, most were fierce about defending Hani from the criticism she started to face for “screwing up the program” for all.
- “She screwed it up for everyone.”
- “But you all called her out like she was an accomplice for dating him. Now that she has left the show, it’s a nuisance?”
- “What the hell…”
- “Well, it’s hard to say. A person died, so…”
- “The Uee-Seungyeon-Yura lineup was so elite.”
- “Pfft. Be for real. How is this not an inconvenience?”
- “I just feel bad for the production staff…”
- “Are we really going to excuse her from the blame when a person has died?”
- “Looks like the show was promotional anyway, which means Hani’s reputation mid-scandal would have affected it negatively. So she made the right decision to leave. It just sucks that the other cast members couldn’t stay… Bummer.”
- “No one would’ve watched a woman who announced her marriage the day after her fiancé’s patient held their funeral.”
- “Yeah… It’s not like the other cast members could wait forever and ever. They all have their own lives to lead.”
- “It’s really too bad…”
- “Oh, what a bummer. I would’ve loved to see Seungyeon, Uee, and Yura host together. They would’ve made a great team.”
- “All of them?!”
- “Oh, wow… Look what she has done…”
- “Given I don’t really like the single male cast member… Maybe it’s for the better that the show went bust. JTBC would be better off coming up with a new lineup of hosts. The female members were OK, though. So that’s too bad.”
