Baekhyun faced intense scrutiny after it was revealed that the idol had moved into his new home. The controversy was sparked by public records that showed the idol was living in the home of a man whose daughter is on the board of Big Planet Made.

Big Planet Made is the label that SM Entertainment alleged to have tried to poach EXO-CBX members. MC Mong, who has long ties to the label, would later reveal in an off-the-record recording that he did indeed try to convince the idols to leave SM Entertainment.

Suspicions would turn into disappointment when it was revealed that One Signature was a company started by Baekhyun. Some netizens called out the fact that the idol had taken a loan against a house that he didn’t even own.

In his livestream, Baekhyun attempted to explain that the Big Planet Made executive was a family friend. The idol also claimed that the ₩13.0 billion KRW (about $9.94 million USD) mortgage was taken out to hold himself accountable.

Despite his explanations, Korean netizens scoffed at the idol’s assertions. Many netizens criticized the idol for allegedly orchestrating the label feud while surprising themselves by the fact that they were rooting for SM Entertainment.
