EXO’s BAEKHYUN Sets Record For Highest First Week Sales For A K-Pop Soloist With “Bambi”
EXO‘s Baekhyun has set a new record for the number of sales in the first week for solo artists with his new mini-album Bambi.
Based on sales figures from the Hanteo Chart, Bambi passed 868,840 copies sold in the first week of sales, which is the highest for any solo artist! He is also the first solo artist in K-Pop history to have sold more than 800,000 copies in its first week.
On the day of release, the album had over 760,000 sales. Baekhyun already set the previous record for first-day sales with his second mini-album Delight, which had over 700,000 sales on the first day! He seems to be taking over the charts!
Alongside this achievement, Baekhyun has proved his popularity by sweeping charts both in Korea and internationally. He gained number one on iTunes Top Album Chart in 60 regions worldwide and on the domestic album chart.
The album was released on March 30 and contains six songs. The EXO singer said it was a final “gift” for his fans before he enlists in the military next month.
