EXO's Chen Praised For Refusing To Drink Starbucks

EXO member Chen is receiving widespread appreciation from K-Pop fans for stating that he doesn’t drink Starbucks.

At a recent fan event, the idol was filmed stating his reluctance to buy from Starbucks. According to some fans, he followed it up by saying that he likes to brew his own coffee instead.

Fans have interpreted this comment as his support for the call to boycott Starbucks in solidarity with Palestine. Many pointed out that since the boycott picked up pace in the K-Pop community, Chen has been consistently posting about getting his coffee from local sellers instead of the multi-billion-dollar chain.

Some fans, however, pointed out that he said it in a different context. A fan claimed that Chen said it while explaining why he won’t need a nickname to order Starbucks as he has stopped buying from the brand.

However, people across different K-Pop fanbases have received Chen’s words extremely positively, pointing out that even if it were just a preference, he was promoting a more “moral” consumption choice.

Meanwhile, for the past few months, a large number of K-Pop fans have called for idols to disassociate themselves from the popular coffee chain in solidarity with Palestine.
