EXO Does Special Performance For Jonghyun, Says Final Goodbye Together With Fans
During their concert in Fukuoka, Japan on December 22, EXO left a message and paid a special tribute to SHINee‘s Jonghyun, who tragically passed away just a few days earlier.
“Jonghyun who was full of passion for music and the stage has left our side. Jonghyun was a true artist, we love and miss you so much. We will remember you forever.”
– EXO
During the show, Suho had opted to not perform his solo stage of “Playboy”, a song composed by Jonghyun for EXO. Instead, towards the end of the concert, Suho stepped out to deliver a personal message for Jonghyun.
“Jonghyun who was a brother, a colleague a senior as well as a composer to EXO left this world a little while ago. I’m sure those who are here are hurting as much as his fans and EXO is hurting. I’m sure he (Jonghyun) knows this as well… I will sing “Angel” hoping that our beloved Jonghyun will be at peace and comfort. This will be the last song of today. Thank you.”
– Suho
After his emotional message, EXO closed out the show by singing their song “Angel” for Jonghyun and wishing him hope and peace.
