Girl Group Goes Viral As They Celebrate Pride Month
June is Pride Month, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community, including allies, are celebrating!
Japanese girl group f5ve (formerly known as SG5, short for Sailor Guardians 5) consists of Sayaka, Kaede, Ruri, Miyuu, and Rui. They debuted last year with single “Firetruck” and redebuted with “Lettuce,” their first release as f5ve.
The group is unique, as it was not only produced in collaboration with Sailor Moon, but American musician BloodPop is their executive producer and co-creative director. Members were also selected from other girl groups, Happiness and iScream.

The Japanese group shared a video via social media, using the viral “Be who you are for your pride” audio as the members excitedly waved Pride flags. In the caption, they added both the rainbow Pride flag and the Transgender flag.
