Fact Check: Is ATEEZ Endorsing Menstrual Pads?

They wouldn’t be the first K-Pop boy group to do so.

K-Pop groups promote everything from fashion brands to makeup and skincare to food and drinks.

The range of what idols advertise continues to broaden with K-Pop’s popularity. In January of this year, ENHYPEN became the first K-Pop boy group to endorse a lingerie brand. The Japanese brand Peach John is known for both women’s lingerie and loungewear.

Now, there are talks of ATEEZ modeling for sanitary pads or menstrual products.

Photos have circulated of the ATEEZ members modeling with packages of sanitary pads from the brand Always. The members are posed cutely, wearing comfortable clothes, such as hoodies.

An ATINY’s (@skzz28 on TikTok) posts have gone viral on the video-sharing app. The comment section on the posts was filled with mixed reactions. Many were excited about the possibility, while some were speculating whether it was true or not.

The photos of ATEEZ are from an actual photoshoot in which the members are CF models. Yet, it’s not for sanitary pads. Instead, it’s for the skincare brand NACIFIC.

However, a K-Pop boy group modeling with sanitary pads isn’t as strange as you might think. In 2017, ASTRO became the first male K-Pop group to endorse feminine hygiene products. The members were CF models for Secret Day pads, playing the role of the sweet and considerate boyfriend.

In 2020, ASTRO’s Cha Eunwoo (also romanized Cha Eun Woo) modeled and endorsed Secret Day sanitary pads yet again.

So, it might just be a matter of time before ATEEZ endorse a feminine hygiene brand, too!
