A heartwarming story of singer Lim Young Woong helping a fan with an early cancer diagnosis recently won the hearts of netizens.
The story was unveiled in a video uploaded on the singer’s YouTube channel, titled Lim Young Woon’s Space IM HERO TOUR 2023 In Seoul.
In the video, Lim Young Woong reads his fans’ messages during his most recent Seoul concert. One of those messages included a thank you note from a fan, who credited him for helping them with their cancer diagnosis.
Thanks to Young Woong, I went for a health check-up, received an early diagnosis, and got treated. I’ve been avoiding colonoscopy because the prep tastes too unpleasant and is difficult to take. But this time, thanks to Young Woong, I pushed myself to undergo a colonoscopy.

Lim, who is always mindful of his unique fanbase, which mostly consists of middle-aged and elderly people, often encourages his fans to undergo regular health checkups. Thanks to his influence, this fan went for a checkup, which ended up detecting early-stage cancer in their body. The early diagnosis made the prognosis much better.

Lim actually found the fan in the audience and asked them if they were healthy, adding, “I’m so relieved that your cancer was detected early and could be treated.”
