Drama Series Starring K-Pop Idols Earns Low Ratings Immediately After Its Premiere
Across the entertainment industry, new series are released monthly, with some earning better reactions than others.
Recently, the C-Drama series Fangs Of Fortune debuted to unexpected ratings.
Fangs Of Fortune tells the story of a realm facing being overrun by demons following the death of the governing goddess and a team of demon hunters put together by a demon to restore order.
During the Zhenyuan era, the accidental death of the Bai Ze goddess, who governed both human and demon realms, leads to chaos as demon beasts run rampant. Disguised as Zhao Yuanzhou, the demon leader Zhu Yan offers to form a demon-hunting bureau to help restore order.
Wen Xiao, suspicious of Zhao Yuanzhou, joins the bureau along with her childhood friend Zhuo Yichen, skilled archer Pei Sijing, and the talented but timid doctor Bai Jiu. Together, they confront the creatures from “The Classic of Mountains and Seas” and uncover the darker truths behind the chaos.

The cast includes former WJSN‘s Chen Xiao as Wen Xiao and PENTAGON‘s Yanan as Li Lun.
Fangs Of Fortune premiered on October 26, with three episodes being released that day.
Just a few days later, the series already had rating of 4.9 out of ten on Chinese site Douban, which has been compared to the western site Rotton Tomatoes. The site allows users to rate media, including television series.
Netizens also shared their grievances with the series, with some even saying that it was “unwatchable.”

On the other hand, many have reported enjoying the program so far, praising the visuals of the scenes and the storyline.
