Fans Believe NCT May Be Uniting To Compete In Their Own “Squid Game” — Here’s Why
Though NCT just released a full group project at the end of 2020, it’s possible they may be coming together again as NCT 2021 to attempt their very own Squid Game challenge!
The members have confirmed on numerous occasions that NCT 2021 was in the works earlier this year. However, considering the lack of official updates and the already jam-packed schedule the members have, fans weren’t sure how NCT 2021 could happen.
However, that’s all changed with the last few updates from some NCT members! Taeyong posted this photo on his Instagram story of him attempting to cut out a shape from dalgona.
This game was featured in Netflix’s hit show Squid Game as one of the challenges the characters must successfully complete in order to survive. The shapes in the show were an umbrella, star, triangle, and circle.
A running joke throughout K-Pop fandoms has been the idea of the dalgona challenge but instead of these shapes, it’s your favorite group’s logo! Kun might have seen fans’ edits since he shared this picture of WayV‘s logo on a piece of dalgona.
Though Taeyong’s shape is hard to see, other members shared photos of them attempting the game with those shapes! Renjun shared this photograph of a dalgona with an umbrella shape.
And Hendery sent fans a photo of multiple dalgona pieces, with a star-shaped one on the top.
Shotaro shared a picture of him attempting to trace out a triangle! He even added in the creepy doll seen in Squid Game‘s first episode during the “Red Light, Green Light” game.
While some were surprised to realize it’s possible NCT may be coming together for a Squid Game challenge, YangYang actually told us all about it already! During a livestream weeks ago, YangYang joked about NCT potentially doing a Squid Game competition where the winner gets to have a solo.

NCTzens are hopeful this means that NCT 2021 will include content of the members attempting Squid Game challenges, which is guaranteed to be chaotic and hilarious.
