Fans Call Out NCT Yuta’s “Unfair And Cruel” Mistreatment By SM Entertainment
In the last year, multiple members of NCT have released solo music, both singles and albums. Taeyong was the first to release his solo album, followed by Doyoung, Yuta, and Jaehyun.
While many fans have been excited about the group’s release of such diverse music, some have felt that SM Entertainment has not treated all the members equally in their promotions. In particular, fans have pointed out issues with Yuta’s solo album promotions.
Following the release of Jaehyun’s J, the digital version of Yuta’s Depth was released on October 3. Two days after this, his Japanese solo debut and showcase tour, Hope, began.
Many fans had requested SM Entertainment promote Yuta’s release and tour more often on NCT’s accounts during the pre-release time, but recent actions have relaunched complaints.
Usually, when an NCT member releases music, the group’s accounts will change to reflect it. However, even after the release of Depth, the account remained with a layout promoting Jaehyun’s J, and later changed to reflect the idol’s upcoming single “Unconditional.”
Fans also noted differences in promotion on the group’s Instagram accounts. Many pointed out that Yuta’s solo tour announcement received a single post, while Jaehyun’s fan concerts were given two different 12-post spreads.
It was also pointed out that this happened with teasers for Yuta’s upcoming physical album, with the idol again getting single photo posts.
Fans are not blaming Jaehyun for the difference in promotion but have specifically accused SM Entertainment of preferential and unfair treatment.
I gotta say tho… the official acc changing their layout for this single and never once changing it for yuta’s whole mini album and showcase promotion is rubbing me in the worst way 😕

it’s exhausting to repeatedly see how little SM values Yuta compared to his members when they’re profiting off of him. their name is on his album not just AVEX so they’re actively gaining from yet sold out tour, merch, magazines, etc. but can’t even give him a change of layout??

sm are so shameless. they couldn't change that stupid layout for yutas ALBUM no matter how much we begged them. but they changed it in a heartbeat for a fuckass single. they dont even try to mask their indifference and favouritism. all I want is for yuta to leave
