“Hello this is the protest wreath team. We are here to inform you of how the donations will be used. Thanks to the fans, we were able to raise 4,000,000 KRW ($~2,850.63 USD). The usage ratios are as follows:
Wreath cost 74%
Truck cost 20%
The remaining amount will be forwarded to the NCT 127 streaming team after contacting them.”
Although there were many complaints about NCT 127 promotions, fan dissatisfaction reached its peak after the Japanese venues were announced last week.
While the group has sold out dome tours previously, the upcoming Japanese tour only consisted of the Osaka dome and two other venues that seated less than 10,000 people. Fans were also shocked as one group member previously held a solo concert in a larger venue not too long ago.
Protest trucks were sent out with different messages sent to the company.
Below are the messages chosen by fans to be included on the protest truck.
- “Cancel the Aichi Sky Expo and West Japan General Exhibition Center venues.”
- “An incompetent management, or malicious management. Fans don’t need this type of insincere venue rental.”
- “Cancel the exhibition center that influences the tour scale and affects their career.”
- “Sold out 55,000 seats at Tokyo Dome. In return, we get a 6,500-seat exhibition center. Cancel the rushed tour venues.”
- “2021-2022 Chuseok comeback. 2023 Asian Games comeback. 2024 Olympic comeback. 2025 Chuseok? 2026 World Cup comeback? If the same mistake is made again, that is intentional.”
- “Cancel intentionally putting down NCT 127’s career and renting out small tour venues.”
- “No Japanese album, reducing the size. What will you do for the next venue rental? What’s the point of being in Nikkei if the agency is useless yearly.”
- “Guerilla campaign for three years- The Link. ‘AND MORE’ for THE UNITY but ended up being ‘THE END’. Malicious renting of smaller venues- THE MOMENTUM. Stop intentionally putting down the artists.”
- “The Fandom has had enough of the lack of communication with NEO CENTER. NCT 127’s Europe tour is nowhere to be seen.”
- “Hopefully, NCT 127’s original content will be different next year.”
They also sent various protest wreaths expressing their frustration.
The first day of the protest is scheduled to take place from 9 AM to 5 PM KST.
On the other hand, protest wreaths were also seen outside SM Entertainment recently protesting former RIIZE Seunghan‘s return.
